SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN PARTNER COUNTRIES

Since the beginning of the project it was deterimined to divide our project into 4 different subtopics related to sustainable development: sustainable energy, sustainable architecture, sustainable water and sustainable transport.  Therefore, the  fourth mobility took place in Lithuania, in Kaunas and the topic of this mobility was „ SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT“. Before coming to Lithuania, project participants from all countries had to make the research on sustainable energy in their own country and to prepare PPT presentations. Here you can see final products of students researches.

Enjoy watching:)

The last mobility of the "ES4SS" project took place in President Valdas Adamkus gymnasium. (Lithuania, Kaunas) The topic of mobility was "Sustainable transport", so throughout the entire week the students participated in various experiential activities related to sustainable transport.

The project members started their activities from early Monday morning. After the welcoming speech of the headmistress R. Mikalauskienė and amazing musical program the students participated in activities to "break the ice" and get to know each other better, then they went to the Aviation Museum and even had the opportunity to try the pilot's chair! In the afternoon the students participated in orienteering competitions around the old town of Kaunas looking for various objects and completing tasks prepared by teacher A. Vaivilavičienė.

On the second mobility day of the Erasmus+ ES4SS project a trip to Vilnius was waiting for the project participants. Students and teachers travelled to Vilnius by train to learn more about sustainable transport, to get to know the capital by walking around the old town. Throughout the day the project participants had possibility to spend time in an excellent weather, having a great mood and desire to get to know and discover new things while working together and cooperating. Students and teachers visited the interactive, modern Railway Museum where they had to complete tasks in teams that helped them to learn more about the history of the railway and related aspects of sustainability. In the old town of Vilnius the students participated in the orienteering tasks, not forgetting to enjoy the great views, weather and each other's company. While travelling back to Kaunas by train students shared their impressions of what they learned and what they saw in a sunny Vilnius.

The third day of the ES4SS project started in the gymnasium where students had to present their prepared presentations whose topic was: "Sustainable transport in my hometown now and in 50 years time". Well, after the presentations another day full of excitements awaited for the students. Erasmus +ES4SS project participants deserve the highest praise - they not only accepted challenges with a smile on their faces but also implemented them to the end. Although the sun had just appeared in Lithuania and most of the travelers took their bikes out of their personal garages for the first time after winter, the 38-kilometre scenic route to Kačerginė and back (visiting the Aleksotas sightseeing place, Pypliai mound and other monuments) didn't scare anyone, what is more, several participants were encouraged to achieve higher personal recordsJ.

The fourth day of the Erasmus+ project ES4SS has dawned full of adventures and surprises. The project participants went to the Lithuanian Folk Museum in Rumšiškės early in the morning where they not only had the opportunity to visit the exhibits but also to check their endurance participating in orienteering competitions. The Lithuanian Ethnographic Museum is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe in terms of area (195 ha) and the number of real exhibits. It is the only museum of the ethnographic type in Lithuania, which presents a reduced reflection of all the ethnographic regions and towns of Lithuania. While participating in orientation competitions, project participants not only performed various tasks but also got to know different ethnographic districts, their customs and culture. All in all, the end of the day was finished playing games, doing relay races, having a picnic and unforgettable moments with friends.

On the last day of the ES4SS project students learned about the importance of carbon dioxide for our planet. The students found out that car exhaust gases heat the planet, thus causing even more global warming. Later, the project participants travelled on foot along the planned route where they could learn about the history of the glass factory, the barracks of the Freda military town, the old Freda cemetery and the history of the Botanic Garden. While walking this way the students counted their steps which they took about 10,000! After lunch the students had mind -battle during which they had the opportunity to test their knowledge acquired during various activities. Participants were asked questions related to sustainable transport, its history and places of interest in Lithuania. In the evening a lively students’ program was waiting for them, a certificate awarding ceremony was hold and of course, various games and a disco hosted by the 10th grade students occurred.

The project is over as everything that has a beginning has an end. We are happy that we managed to achieve the goals of the project, we are happy with the knowledge that the students gained while participating in the project and we are proud of our great students who dared to participate in the project and take on all the challenges. See you in other projects!
