SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN PARTNER COUNTRIES
Since the beginning of the project it was deterimined to divide our project into 4 different subtopics related to sustainable development: sustainable energy, sustainable architecture, sustainable water and sustainable transport. Therefore, the second mobility took place in Italy, in Sicily and the topic of this mobility was „ SUSTAINABLE WATER AND FORESTRY“. Before coming to Italy, project participants from all countries had to make the research on sustainable energy in their own country and to prepare PPT presentations. Here you can see final products of students researches.

UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES ON THE PEARL OF ITALY-PALERMO ISLAND
President Valdas Adamkaus gymnasium participated in the second mobility of the project ES4SS that took place in Sicily (Altavilla Milicia) on the 7-11th, November. Students from three partner countries: Italy, Spain and Lithuania participated in the mobility, the theme of this mobility was "Sustainable water and forests". Students and teachers in Sicily were welcomed by students with traditional dances and songs. After having tour in school’s premises, the students planted flowers, participated in the art workshops and in the afternoon tested their skills on the dance floor – they were learning traditional, national, Italian dances. The second day of the mobility started with the conference "Sustainable water and forests". During the conference, students were presenting their presentations on sustainable water and forests, also they were talking about sea and ocean pollution in their countries, and described the experiments related to water they did in their gymnasiums. On the third day, from early morning students watched a puppet theatre play, during which the project participants learned a lot about the history of Sicily. Afterwards, the students were making book markers and having a really good time. Later, students went to the beach, had lunch there and got to work - collecting garbage on the coast and in this way contributed to the noble goal of reducing pollution of the seas and oceans. The fourth day started in the natural nature reserve “Monte Cane”, where the project participants not only admired the local nature, caves, overcame the challenge of physical activity by climbing the mountain, but also contributed to the preservation of natural nature - each of them planted a tree. After a great day full of activities, participants came back to the town of Altavilla Millicia where the project members had a warm welcome by the mayor of the town. After the meeting with mayor, students visited the painting museum that left a big impression as all the paintings were painted on a base prepared from secondary raw materials. On the last day of mobility, the students visited Palermo, the capital of Sicily, wandered in the the Botanical Garden and admired the variety and abundance of plants. After visiting the Botanical Garden, students continued their journey in the streets of the city and admired the architecture of the buildings and the beauty of the city. While visiting hospitable Sicily, students not only received certificates but also gained a lot of knowledge about the country's culture, traditions, and its ecological problems. We are happy with the successful trip and are looking forward to a new challenge.😊.
