SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN PARTNER COUNTRIES
Since the beginning of the project it was deterimined to divide our project into 4 different subtopics related to sustainable development: sustainable energy, sustainable architecture, sustainable water and sustainable transport. Therefore, the third mobility took place in Spain, in Manresa and the topic of this mobility was „ SUSTAINABLE CITIES“. Before coming to Spain, project participants from all countries had to make the research on sustainable cities in their own countries and to prepare PPT presentations. Here you can see final products of students researches.

ES4SS PROJECT’S MOBILITY “SUSTAINABLE CITIES” IN SPAIN, CATALONIA AND STUDENTS’ UNFORGETTABE MEMORIES
Students from President Valdas Adamkaus gymnasium on 17th-21st April, 2023 participated in the last mobility of the Erasmus+ project LT01-KA122-SCH-000013870 "Environmental Sustainability for Sustainable Schools" which took place in Spain, in the Catalonia region, small but cozy town of Manresa. Students from three partner countries: Italy, Spain and Lithuania participated in the mobility whose name was "Sustainable cities". On the first day of mobility students at the FEDAC Manresa school enthusiastically welcomed the guests with songs and a welcome speech from the principal. After observing the school, students took part in challenge competitions. During the orientation competition the project participants met and made friends with other students while working in international groups.
On the second day of the "ES4SS" project students had the opportunity to visit one of the most visited sites in Catalonia - the Monserrat Monastery. The project participants learned that the word "monserrat" comes from the word saw because the rocks on which the monastery stands resemble the toothed shape of a saw. This place is also an important symbol of Catalonia because the statue of the virgin Monserrat is kept in the monastery which symbolizes the deep cultural traditions of Catalonia. The second half of the day was spent at the Manresa school where children created a sustainable city with the help of the computer game "Minecraft".
The third mobility day started with the conference "Sustainable cities". During the conference, students were listening to the presentations of invited guests about the meaning of sustainable city, what are the most sustainable cities in the world and what should be done to make the city around us more beautiful and sustainable. Afterwards, the students presented their prepared presentations about the sustainable cities they live in and shared insights about the future perspectives. Later, the project participants went to the library in the city center, where they listened to a report on the activities carried out by SDG's organization in Manresa. The mission of the organization is to encourage people to choose a more sustainable way of life and sustainable ways of solving problems in the city.
On the fourth mobility day of the "ES4SS" project students had the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful cities in Europe - Barcelona. This city is famous for the magnificent Sagrada Familia Cathedral, the Gothic Old Town and impressive parks. The students were divided into international groups, got to know Barcelona by completing challenges for them, for example, they had to find an object of interest and take a picture with a policeman. Project participants not only found out a lot about Barcelona, but also enjoyed the city's spring atmosphere and beautiful views.
The students spent the first part of the last day at school: they were making product advertisements from upcycled materials, various small items that the students intend to use them
when they return home. After the workshop the participants spent time with their families and in the evening a farewell party and certificate awarding ceremony took place. The students summarized their knowledge about sustainable cities by participating in a quiz, followed by dances and songs. Unfortunately, the fun was replaced by sadness realizing that everything is coming to the end.
Luckily, soon we will all meet again in Lithuania - at the Gymnasium of President Valdas Adamkus. We are looking forward to welcoming guests from Spain and Sicily as well!
