SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN PARTNER COUNTRIES
Since the beginning of the project it was deterimined to divide our project into 4 different subtopics related to sustainable development: sustainable energy, sustainable architecture, sustainable water and sustainable transport. Therefore, the first mobility took place in Turkey, in Gaziantep and the topic of this mobility was „ SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AND ITS RESOURCES“. Before coming to Turkey, project participants from all countries had to make the research on sustainable energy in their own country and to prepare PPT presentations. Here you can see final products of students researches.

The first international Erasmus + project KA 122 action ES4SS mobility „Sustainable energy“ in sunny Gaziantep-Turkey
After arrival and active weekend in Gaziantep, „ES4SS Erasmus + project“ students started busy week on a Monday, 3rd of October. Together with partners from Spain and Sicily, students of President Valdas Adamkus gymnasium had opportunity to visit ecological building „Eco building“, which is unique sustainable building in Turkey. This building provides oneself electricity which comes from sunlight and water collected from rain or reclaimed water. After information received about „Eco building“, students presented activities from the very beginning of the project and shared experience how these activities were realized. After dinner, all students were involved in engaging activities about sustainable energy and participated in workshops about sustainable energy. They also made a bug which uses sun energy for mobility. And this is not everything! One more engaging activity was prepared for all participants and that is “Eco building construction”. Students, working in groups, had to construct eco house from sustainable and ecological materials. At the end of the day students visited Botanical garden and were happy to enjoy nature and warm Turkey sun.
The second morning of Erasmus+ project ES4SS dawned. The students visited the Old Town of Gaziantep, which is the sixth largest city in Turkey. The children learned about the architecture of the Old Town and visited the museum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, i.e. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk Museum, and learned many interesting historical facts. Later, the students created wonderful memories visiting the Toy Museum, which is located in the dungeon. After the hearty lunch, the students visited the Mosaic Museum, where they not only saw the mosaic exhibits, but also participated in a creative workshop called "Make a Mosaic for Yourself".
On the third day of Erasmus+ ES4SS project, the students went to “Eco Building”, which they were already familiar with, and participated in some interesting workshop. Divided in four groups, the students had to build a wind turbine, which works due to the accumulated solar system. The task was quite challenging, but two teams successfully managed to construct the wind power plant, which they later tested outside.
Following the hearty lunch, the students went to the largest zoo in Gaziantep, where they saw various interesting animals and spend time in the fresh air. It was a meaningful and active day and time passed very quickly. We are waiting for more impressions and adventures of the last day of the project!
Everything that starts has its ending. Passing time has brought the last days of ES4SS project mobility. We have got a lot of wonderful impressions we would like to share. The last official day in Turkey started with a conference in “Eco Building”. Students participated in an interesting discussion about the global crises and problems of the world and gave presentations about the use of renewable energy in their countries. The conference was finalised with award and certificate ceremony. After some tasty lunch, students were treated to some entertainment and fun in the amusement park. The fruitful and amusing day was followed by a new morning. The day started with a trip to a unique place, i.e. a town under water. The town of Halfeti, located near the dam, mesmerises both tourists and local residents. Students had the opportunity to sail on a boat and admire the wonders of nature. We will definitely cherish wonderful and meaningful memories created with our partners. We express sincere gratitude to the teachers Umut and Erkan for their great work preparing the program.
